It's 5:30 in the morning here in Cali. I've found myself on a Disney Bus with a bunch of strangers. The passengers are toners and families with little kids. It's still quite dark out and the lights on the bus are out so folks can sleep. As we speed down the California freeway, and Pat Metheny keeps me company on the Dell DJ, I thought this was a great opportunity to write. We're heading for LAX and eventually, home. This weekend I had a chance to hang with two of the greatest men this world has even seen: My dad and Gerald. Together we traversed the music industry supplier world like champions. While it may be old news to GV, the NAMM show is still relatively new to us. And dad was truly in his element; Shaking hands, networking, dealing business card like he works a blackjack table. He looks genuinely happy to do what he's doing. I feel like I’m partially responsible for his new career and all the fun he's having being involved something he loves. The time we've spent together on the west coast has been something I'll cherish for a long time. I don't know if he'll ever read this but I need to thank him for this trip and his friend/ companionship But- more importantly for being an incredibly supportive dad. I’d say more but we're pulling up to LAX. -Truth 1/22/06
